New Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

The zenith of the Aston Martin production range has arrived with the new DBS Superleggera; the fastest, most powerful production car Aston Martin have ever made.

Ever since the DBS label was introduced, it has only been applied to the ultimate Aston Martin cars. This one is no exception. The DBS Superleggera can launch itself from 0-60mph in a truly awe-inspiring time of less than 3.6 seconds, sending it blasting onward to its top-speed of 211mph. However, such speed needs worthy beauty to represent its raw power. Featuring strong and muscular characteristics, it is without a doubt that the DBS Superleggera is not just the most powerful Aston Martin to exist, but also the most beautiful.

Traditionally, it is stated that form follows function; they are qualities on either side of the spectrum. The DBS Superleggera shatters this rule with an exterior that is instantly recognisable across the globe, thanks to the renowned history and image of Aston Martin. The design choices have not just been implemented for the sake of beauty, they actively play a part in cooling and controlling this ultimate Aston Martin. For instance, the dominant hexagonal grille directs a surfeit of air towards the engine to cool it down, as well as representing the uncompromising strength contained behind it.

In order to match such untameable power and exotic beauty, a new level of luxury has been achieved within the cabin. The DBS Superleggera boasts a lavish interior that uses leather upholstery as well as high-performance seats that perfectly support your body on your indelible journey.

To fortify the reputation of the DBS label, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera will provide an unassailable experience because of its mighty V12 engine. In less than just 3.6 seconds, this Super GT can launch itself from 0-62mph in an utterly astonishing time. Therefore, it should come as little surprise it only takes 6.4 seconds for the DBS to reach a speed of 100mph, which will launch it towards its top-speed of a staggering 211mph.

This Super GT has been painstakingly crafted by hand, to ensure its beauty and power is absolute. These astounding feats of speed have been achieved by the DBS Superleggera 5.2 V12 twin-turbo engine which produces a huge 715bhp and 900Nm of torque, the most any Aston Martin has ever been capable of producing.

Traditionally, cars that are focused on performance become heavy as they need bigger and stronger components in order to maintain their high-performance. However, in contrast to this the DBS Superleggera has all the components it needs to maintain such outstanding performance but with little effect on the weight. This has been done by using the strongest lightweight materials available, allowing for enhanced cooling, sturdier suspension and bigger brakes.

The DBS Superleggera features a stern chassis that uses a classic wishbone front suspension, a multilink rear axle that has been optimised geometrically and a track that is wider than the one found in the front and rear of a DB11, affording it an enhanced stabilised stance.

Because of the many advanced systems within the DBS Superleggera, a way to effortlessly control the many functions is ideal to guarantee the ultimate driving experience each journey. The cabin uses neoteric technology with the finest handcraftsmanship to make sure this Super GT is as instinctive as possible thanks to the leading-edge 12" TFT screen granting control to the many instruments and a 8" display for infotainment. Both screens can be controlled with letter recognition on the touchpad, by a gesture or by voice control.
