The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster has been officially unveiled, two years after Aston
Martin redefined the Vantage nameplate with the Vantage Coupè. The Vantage Roadster
has been introduced with the intention of proving a thrilling and pure open air motoring
experience. While the Vantage Roadster mirrors the Coupè’s sensational responsiveness,
performance and agility, it has its own distinctive structural design. One main styling
adjustment is the Roadster’s soft-top retractable roof, deemed to be the fastest convertible
roof in the world.
The Aston Martin Roadster’s electrically retractable canvas soft-top takes just 6.7 seconds to
put down and 6.8 seconds to unfurl. All of which can be done at speeds of up to 31mph. The
convertible roof features a unique, light-weight Z-Shaped structure, and thanks to the
compact design of the frame, there is still 200 litres of storage capacity left when the roof is
stored, enough to fit a full size golf bag.
The animalistic silhouette of the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is accentuated with its
predatory and athletic stance, ducktail spoiler, sleek rear light bar, striking front splitter and
rear diffuser. Another special addition to the Vantage Roadster is the new iconic Vane grille,
which pays tribute to 70 years of the Aston Martin Vantage nameplate. However, the
Vantage Roadster can be chosen with the previous catfish-style Hunter grille to suit
In terms of performance, the beastly 4.0 litre twin- turbocharged engine outputting 503bhp.
All that power travels through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels,
delivering an impressive top speed of 190mph and accelerating from 0-62mph in just 3.7
The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster shares the same electronic rear differential as the
Vantage Coupè, along with the adaptive damping, torque vectoring and dynamic stability
control, all of which have been finely tuned to suit the Vantage Roadster. The new Vantage
Roadster is introduced along with new paint colours and new alloy wheel options.
The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is an exquisite example of Aston Martin engineering.
