Bentley Motors has been named the UK’s top employer for school leavers by AllAboutSchoolLeavers – a careers guidance company.
On top of this accolade, they were also recognised as Top Employer in the Automotive Industry and Top Employer for Medium School Level Intake. The awards were voted for purely by apprentices and commended Bentley’s dedication to learning and development for future talent, with an innovative balance of theoretical and practical learning.
Dr Astrid Fontaine, Member of the Board for People, Digitalisation and IT commented “To be named the Top Employer for School Leavers in the UK is an achievement we are very proud of and underlines our continued commitment to future talent. This commitment spans decades with programmes running for more than 40 years each offering a solid foundation for people to build the relevant skills and knowledge that will enable them to grow through their careers.”
The apprentice programme at Bentley takes between three and four years depending on the area they are working on. There are currently 250 people on trainee programme, with 41 new apprentices will start in autumn 2018.
Talking about her experience, Joanna Duraj, a first-year Engineering Degree Apprentice said “I’ve enjoyed every second of my apprenticeship so far and would recommend it to anyone. I’m encouraged to pursue my technical, academic and personal development goals in a structured way and I’m gaining knowledge and experience from a variety of people around the business that will only help me as my career at Bentley develops”
