Jaguar is the first brand the the history of The Wimbledon Championships to take Andy Murray's Wimbledon Trophy on a tour of the UK. The tour was undertaken as part of Jaguar's #FeelWimbledon campaign and the trophy visited 20 locations in 19 days and attracted over 7,500 fans.
Scott Dicken, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover UK said, "We are thrilled to have been able to take Andy's trophy across the UK. We hope that the Andy Murray Trophy Tour has really helped to build the excitement ahead of The Championships, and support for Andy Murray."
Andy Murray hopes the trophy tour inspires the future generations of tennis players and spreads the Wimbledon spirit across the nation. The 19 day tour began at the global reveal of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake on the 14th June and travelled over 1,500 miles across the UK, visiting tennis clubs, schools, parks and city centres. The trophy was also at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Over the course of the tour, people visited Jaguar's bespoke #FeelWimbledon Trophy Tour unit to take a picture with Andy Murray's trophy, watch Murray's best tennis moments over the last year and have fun attempting to beat Murray's time on the Batak reaction speed test.
Andy Murray commented, "It has been fantastic to see the number of people that have come to see my Wimbledon Trophy. My fans' support has always been so important to my success and hopefully a few of them have been inspired to pick up their racquets again."
