During the Coronavirus pandemic, Jaguar and Land Rover have offered their support by deploying 362 vehicles globally to help charitable organisations and front-line workers tackling the spread of Coronavirus.
Jaguar provided 15 vehicles to support the UK’s ‘Help NHS Heroes’ initiative for delivering food and essentials to NHS front line staff, carers and their families. It allowed the charity to delivery boxes containing food and other essential supplies which could be ordered via a bespoke app before being made ready for collection at their NHS place of work. The scheme helped thousands of frontline NHS staff and carers by providing easy access to food and essentials, whilst they were busy working. The fleet has also been used for home deliveries too.
"The fleet of Jaguar will make a huge difference in our ability to deliver essential supplies to NHS staff at a time when we have a duty to support these heroes in our communities."
- Jason Mawer. Founder of Help NHS Heroes
It was not just in the UK that Jaguar and Land Rover were helping. In South Africa they teamed up with the South African Red Cross and the Minnie Dlamini Foundation to deliver vital food to vulnerable people as part of the #FeedingSATogether initiative. In total they were able to deliver 2,400 food packs to the most vulnerable in their society, enough to last a month.
Across Europe, Jaguar Land Rover supplied a further 20 vehicles to Red Cross societies to help reach vulnerable communities.
