At the 2017 Auto Express New Car Awards, the new Land Rover Discovery took home the award for '2017 Car of the Year'. The Land Rover was recognised for its peerless performance and unique fusion of refinement, practicality, versatility and off-road capabilities. This award celebrates the continuous evolution of the Discovery lineage.

The 2017 Discovery model has so far achieved over 12,000 sales, with over 4,000 orders placed before the vehicle went on sale. Features that won favour with the judges during testing included the spacious cabin, capable of comfortably seating seven adults and being configured from a smartphone with the world-first remote 'Intelligent Seat Fold Technology', the impressive 2,406 litres of luggage space, best-in-class 3,500kg towing capacity, nine USB ports and semi-autonomous safety technology.

The new Discovery is the bigger sibling of the Discovery Sport and the Discovery family of vehicles is renowned for its all-terrain performance, innovative technology and flexible features that are all necessary to modern living. This is the second year in a row that a Jaguar or Land Rover vehicle has triumphed at the Auto Express New Car Awards with the Jaguar F-PACE winning the same 'Car of the Year' award in 2016.
