The new Range Rover Velar was unveiled at the Design Museum in London at its world premiere, it was the first time that the Design Museum has revealed and exhibited a vehicle.

The 'Reductionism' exhibition showcased the philosophy of stripping away complexity to reveal true quality. It was the first time since 1970s that Land Rover have displayed a vehicle in this way, the last was the original Range Rover which was shown to the world at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Jaguar Land Rover have also announced a partnership with the London Design Museum, which will bring more collaborations, exhibitions and events to the museum over the next three years.

"We are delighted to be able to begin our partnership with the Design Museum with such a significant vehicle. The new Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity to our brand whilst reinforcing our total commitment to design and engineering excellence." - Gerry McGovern, Chief Design Officer, Land Rover.

The Range Rover Velar is the fourth member of the Range Rover family and fills the space between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. Designed to enhance the driver's experience it features a range of the latest technology. At the heart of the Velar's technology is an all-new, cutting-edge infotainment system called Touch Pro Duo.

"Two high definition 10-inch touchscreens are your window into the world. The connected infotainment system learns from you and anticipates your needs, serving you what you want, when you want it - but never intrudes letting you enjoy the drive, while it takes the stress out of daily life, like any good butlet or digital personal assistant should" - Peter Virk, Director of Connected Car & Future Technology.

Continuing the Range Rover style, the Velar is sleek and features an innovative design making sure that every journey will be enjoyable. Designed and engineered using unique and sustainable materials the advanced engineering of the Velar ensures that it is ready for every journey, whether you are driving around the city or travelling off road. Featuring Jaguar Land Rover's Lightweight Aluminium Architecture it is safer, strong, cleaner and improves driving performance.

The Range Rover Velar goes on sale from Summer 2017 and will be priced from £44,830 (OTR). When it is launched it will be available with a choice of five engines, ranging from the clean, responsive 180PS 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel, to the powerful 380PS supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine. A 300PS Ingenium petrol engine will join the Velar range later in 2017.
