Jaguar Land Rover Classic has opened a brand new Classic Drive event at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, allowing the public access to the grounds where Land Rover perfected numerous models of their legendary all-terrain vehicles. Customers are also allowed to drive some of the most celebrated Jaguars to be produced.

Eastnor castle is an estate in Herefordshire boasting 5000-acres of land. This home to the Classic Drive Experience allows guests to take on the treacherous terrain and mud that helped forge the legendary Land Rover vehicle range. Starting in 1948 with the Series I, a spartan but unstoppable four-wheel-drive vehicle that was created for farm and industrial tasks. The admiration and effectiveness of the Series I was so great, the same design and philosophy was implemented throughout numerous Land Rover models through to the Land Rover Defender which was in production until 2016. But before the Defender was even released, the 'Series' models continued development, giving us the Series III in 1971, granting improvements to the go-anywhere mindset of Land Rover. Selling almost 500,000 models, the Series III was the model that made Land Rover recognisable to everyone. The Series III will also be available to drive at the Classic Drive Experience, as well as the Series I.

During the 1970s, the Range Rover series was launched, giving us the same off-road capabilities as the Series range, with a focus on ensuring luxury and comfort. This marked the beginning of the Range Rover brand, one that is instantly recognised worldwide and respected as a luxurious vehicle to go off-roading in. Now known by the name of Range Rover Classic, the first generation model is available for all guests to use to tackle Eastnor Castle's trialing off-road tracks, at the Jaguar Land Rover Classic Drive Experience.

After guests have completed testing some of these renowned Land Rover vehicles on this iconic track at Eastnor Castle, they will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a few Jaguar legends. Coming back from the latter half of the 1950s is the XK150, the ultimate XK sports car legend of its time, beginning back in 1948 with the XK120. The successor to the XK150 was the eminent E-type, a car hailed as one of the most beautiful of its time. Guests of the Classic Drive Experience are welcome to try out both a Series 1 E-type and the later Series 3 E-type from the 1970s.

However, Jaguar's reputation was not just forged from its sports cars, it also produced a variety of saloon models helping Jaguar achieve its reputation for 'grace, pace and space'. The Mk2 was one of these models. An entertaining car to drive with equal luxury found fans amongst racing drivers, the police force, and most notably in the beloved TV series Inspector Morse. Guests will also be allowed to drive a Mk2 during this experience.

The Jaguar Land Rover Classic Drive Experience available only at Eastnor Castle is open to bookings now, priced at £495 per driver. Make your booking today by calling 0333 733 3003 or by visiting the following link:

Jaguar and Land Rover have created some of the most beautiful and iconic British cars ever. While their DNA lives on in our modern line-up, we want people to experience where the story developed. Equally, the Eastnor estate has played a huge part in shaping our business, so to be able to bring a selection of our legends together in such a significant location is a real privilege. It’ll be a trip back in time and an experience that only Jaguar Land Rover’s incredible heritage can offer.
