Aston Martin Reveals Exciting New Era At Motor Show 2020

Aston Martin has revealed an exciting new era at the Motor Show 2020.

The show introduced us to the new DBX, new Vantage Roadster, V12 Speedster and the Aston Martin Valhalla. Lawrence Stroll was also introduced as a new investor of the company, who has been enlisted to take the company in a bright new direction.

New Investment

Lawrence Stroll, future executive chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda, is part of a consortium of investors who have recently invested into the brand. Lawrence has years of professional experience in building luxury brands in the both private and public sectors. Explaining his decision to invest, he commented “We believe that the company has the brand products, engineering excellence and potential to become one of the world’s prominent luxury car bands.”

Stroll also owns Racing Point F1 team, which under the new deal will be rebranded as Aston Martin F1 works team from 2021 onwards. This new investment is certainly an exciting move in the Aston Martin story, with many exciting opportunities already in the pipeline.

New Aston Martin Models

The first new model to be revealed at the Motor Show was the imminent new DBX. First deliveries to customers are expected in summer. Merrick Reichman exclaimed “We’ve never had a car in our history that has been ordered at the rate we are seeing this car ordered”. The model revealed boasts a satin xenon grey paint finish with black treatment on the exterior and black carbon fibre badges. On the inside, there is 280 layers of carbon, hand-made and hand-stitched, creating a sumptuous and luxurious place to be.

During the Motor Show they also spoke about the Vantage and its importance in the range after 70 years. The model has been updated for 2020, with new grille, powerful 4.0 litre V8 engine and more. They also revealed the exciting new V12 Speedster, of which only 88 will be made. The V12 engine and small wheelbase helps create an incredible power-to-weight ratio. Its design is inspired by heritage racing and made in conjunction with Boeing, so boasts many unique touches. First deliveries are expected in quarter one of 2021. Also headed for 2021 is the new Aston Martin Valhalla, which incorporates technologies taken from F1 and is inspired by the Valkyrie. Red Bull Advanced Technologies in its design and engineering make it one of the most exciting partnerships in the automotive world.
