Audi added a fully electric car to their rooster with the new Audi RS e-tron GT and German car lovers are already obsessed with this vehicle’s capabilities. The new Audi will be easily recognizable by its one-of-a-kind aero-optimised bodykit. Some other design features that set this car a part is the flared wheelarches along with a macho back diffuser. This design helps the car produce more downforce at soaring speeds. This car is also extremely lightweight compared to some of its predecessors as the roof and the trim are made from carbon fiber. That is just on the exterior!
Once you climb inside one of these beauties and look under the hood, there are more surprises awaiting you. For instance, the Audi RS e-tron GT was based off of the exact same platform as the Porsche Taycan. That may be the only similarity because there are also come distinct differences between the Audio RS e-tron GT and the Taycan. Where the Taycan only uses two electric motor setups, the e-tron GT uses three. That means that it is a triple-electric motor setup. This makes this vehicle able to do controlled drifts.
This car is extremely agile thanks to some updates torque vectoring and the car’s lightweight nature. The fully variable torque vectoring will direct the power split at the rear wheels. You can expect to find two electric motors attached to the back of the car’s axel as well as one in the front. You can also find a 95kWh battery fitted specifically for the RS model. You can also expect to find one-of-a-kind chassis tuning, a restructured suspension and a lower ride height so you can cruise down the street in style. Everyone will be impressed.
These electric babies can go fast too. The RS e-tron is somewhere in the 700bhp range, which means it can reach top high speeds in a matter of seconds. More specifically, it can go anywhere from 0-65 miles per hour in about three seconds. That is really fast.
Do not think that just because this Audi is a fully electric car that you can only drive local places with it. Quite the contrary. Thanks to its large 95kWh battery, you can travel up to 250 miles without having to recharge. When you do have to stop to charge, it will not take that long. The battery can accomodate rapid charging at a fast rate of 270kW.
The Audi RS e-tron GT will go on sale along with their regular saloon in the middle of 2021. The price point is reasonable for this quality vehicle. You can expect to see prices ranging at least form £120,000 when it first hits the marketplace. There will also be lesser versions of the e-tron available, and at a lower price point. You can expect to see prices starting at £80,000. The Audi e-tron GT is definitely a car you do not want to pass up. You can save money on gas and it looks sleek and sophisticated.
