Bentley Celebrates 100 Years Of Exceptional Motoring

2019 is a milestone year for Bentley as it celebrates its landmark centenary. In 1919, W.O Bentley built his first car and it was created with the same passion for materials and fine craftsmanship that has defined the brand over the last 100 years.

The exact date of the 100-year anniversary is 10th July, however Bentley are celebrating this incredible landmark throughout the year. A special edition model inspired by one of its iconic racing models is set to be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. No details have yet been confirmed, but it is expected to only be available in a limited number.

Every Bentley built at the factory in Crewe in 2019 will be fitted with handcrafted features as a tribute to the centenary year. This is a unique opportunity to own a car with rare details that will never be available again. Features include special boot and bonnet badges, centenary message welcome lamp and Centenary Gold interior logos.

Racing has always been at the heart of what Bentley stands for. Its centenary year of racing has begun at Bathurst 12 Hour in Australia with the Continental GT3, as they hope to have a successful year on the track. Driver Steven Kane commented “It’s an honour to be able to represent Bentley in its centenary year, and after a season where we came so close to winning in 2018, it feels like this could be the season that we get to capitalise on all the hard work from last year.”

Aside from racing, Bentley will be creating many unique events throughout the year to continue the celebrations. One of the first takes place at the Retromobile car show between 6th – 10th February in Paris. Bentley will be displaying their oldest remaining and first racing model – EXP 2, giving visitors a unique opportunity view this incredible piece of motoring history.

Enthusiasts will be able to join Bentley at a number of events round the world showcasing the best of Bentley past and present, including W.O Bonham’s exhibition in London on 11th April, 24 Hours of Le Mans in France 15th – 16th June and Salon Privé Concours d'Elegance in Oxfordshire 6th – 8th September.
